The Memory of The Air

Con il sostegno dell’Italian Council, The Memory of the Air nasce al Museo Marubi di Scutari, che conserva un secolo di memoria fotografica albanese. Laita e Rizzi intrecciano gli archivi visivi del museo con le voci delle comunità di Scutari e Tirana, restituendo un racconto corale fatto di immagini e parole. La storia privata e collettiva si riflette negli interni domestici, come in archivi viventi. Il titolo è tratto dalla raccolta Kujtesa e ajrit(1993) di Visar Zhiti, poeta e testimone della storia recente dell’Albania.

Supported by the Italian Council, The Memory of the Air began at the Marubi Museum in Shkodër, which holds a century of Albanian photographic memory. Laita and Rizzi connect the museum’s visual archives with the voices of communities in Shkodër and Tirana, creating a collective narrative of images and words. Private and collective histories emerge from domestic interiors, seen as living archives. The title comes from Kujtesa e ajrit(1993), a poetry collection by Visar Zhiti—poet and witness to Albania’s recent past.
